Renting in Seattle - Landlord Resource

June 4, 2020

June 4 Landlord Update

In this mailing, we provide summaries of:

  • Governor Inslee’s extension of the eviction moratorium.
  • Recently passed ‘recovery’ COVID-19 bills that impact rental regulations in the next several months in Seattle.
  • King County Superior Court’s new requirements for unlawful detainer eviction actions.

Thank you to those who attended the May 13 Landlord Workshop webinar.  It will be posted on the www.seattle.gov/rentinginseattle as soon as possible.  Some edits and corrections to slides are required to ensure they are completely up to date.  An announcement and a link when they post will be sent via this listserv.  Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Some of you have inquired about inspection schedules for the Rental Registration Inspection Ordinance (RRIO).  Currently and until further notice, our inspection staff are inspecting emergency conditions and complaints that require no contact inspections, such as junk storage.  Anyone that is due a RRIO inspection, has been, or will be notified as needed.  Call the RRIO helpline (206) 684-4110 or email RRIO@seattle.gov if you have any questions.

Find all this information on www.seattle.gov/rentinginseattle and visit our resource page.
