NEW City of Tacoma required forms

July 26, 2023

City of Tacoma Rental Housing Code changes effective 7/24/23 require landlords to provide tenants with two new forms created by the City.

The landlord is required to provide the Installment Payment Plan, created by the City, to the tenant to request to pay the security deposit, non-refundable move-in fees and last months' rent.

When serving a Notice of Rent Increase, the landlord must provide a copy of the Resources created by the City.

Summary: Floor area. Dwelling units and congregate residences shall have at least one room which shall have not less than 120 square feet of floor area. Other habitable rooms, except kitchens, shall have an area of not less than 70 square feet. Sleeping rooms shall be increased in floor area by a minimum of 50 square-feet for each occupant in excess of two. Efficiency dwelling units shall comply with the requirements of Subsection T.
